Poll: Feds should boost ed spending

According to a National School Boards Association poll on federal education funding, voters believe that 20 percent of the federal budget is spent on K-12 public education, and those polled said they'd like to see that raised to 37 percent.
Holy cow. Do you know what percentage of the federal budget actually goes to public education? Get ready.
A whopping 1.5 percent. So here's a challenge to education communicators: Keep this modest figure in the public eye.
